Two Monday Evenings: February 2 & 9, 2009 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm

You can make your home a healthier environment for your family, feel more comfortable year-round, and lower your PG&E bills at the same time. Learn how you can do an energy audit, find out where energy is getting lost, why some rooms are comfortable and others not, stay warmer in winter and cooler in summer, eliminate back draft and carbon monoxide, raise indoor air quality reducing allergens & easing asthma, do repairs & remodel using safe and durable products. Set priorities to get the most for your money: Save as much energy as is cost effective now, and then consider solar electric, solar hot water, and other renewable on-site energy generation to meet your reduced energy needs. Live in a healthier home and contribute to a healthier planet. There will be a $5 materials fee collected in class.

Peter Waring has 25 years of construction experience. He is a certified Green Building Professional, a Green Point Rater and a Home Energy (HERS) Rater. Peter taught math & science in public schools for 7 years with a focus on the local environment. He is actively pursuing sustainable development and open space in his home town of Fairfax, where he & his wife recently completed a green home addition to their house.

The Joy of Green Remodeling for Couples with Gail Danchig and Peter Waring

Engage in positive communication, brainstorm your vision, clarify priorities, and take the next step toward the green remodel of your home. This class can support couples at any stage of the remodeling process, whether you’re just beginning to think about it or you’re in the midst of a construction zone. Combining their strengths, Gail and Peter will help you transform what could be a stressful experience into a joyful new chapter in your lives together.

Gail Danchig and Peter Waring recently completed a green addition on their home in Fairfax. Gail is a psychotherapist and life coach with a passion for positive psychology. She is the founder of Courageous Happiness®.  Peter is an educator with 25 years experience in the construction industry. He is a certified Green Building Professional, Green Point Rater, and Home Energy Rater and the founder of Healthier Dwelling.
